Orange Shirt Day – Every Child Matters
On Monday, September 29, our school will recognize Orange Shirt Day to honor Indigenous children who were taken from their families and sent to residential schools. This day reminds us that every child matters and gives us an opportunity to learn, reflect, and stand together in support of truth and reconciliation.
We encourage all students and staff to wear an orange shirt to show solidarity and respect. We also want to recommend supporting our local Victoria Orange Shirt Day organization, started by residential school survivor Eddy Charlie and his friend Kristin Spray: Victoria Orange Shirt Day Shop.
