Family Literacy Day is Tuesday January 27th! 

To celebrate, ḰELSET invites parents, guardians, grandparents, and/or other family members to come read with students from 8:40am - 9:00am. Parking will be problematic - walking, carpooling, and biking will make it easier for you to get into the school in time to read with your child.

Please accompany your child to their classroom and read with them there. Kindergarten, Grade 1, 2, and 3 students, you can choose to bring a flashlight and read your book in the dark gym with your family member (students must be accompanied by an adult for this opportunity and must check in with their teacher for attendance before going to the gym with their family member).

There will be books in the classroom to share but you are also welcome to bring a favourite book from home. If you are planning to take part in flashlight reading, don't forget your flashlight!

If you are unable to attend, some of our older students will be available to read with some of our younger students. We are all part of the ḰELSET family!
