We are excited to welcome students and families back to school on Tuesday, September 8. We look forward to a wonderful year of learning, growth, friendship, and connection.

Welcome Mr. Jason Bowers

We are pleased to welcome Jason Bowers as the new Vice-Principal of ḰELSET Elementary. Mr. Bowers brings extensive experience as an educator and school leader and is committed to supporting student success, inclusive learning, and strong school-community relationships. Please join us in giving him a warm ḰELSET welcome!

School Start-Up Information

Tuesday, September 8

• Grades 1-5 attend from 8:40 a.m. to 10:15 a.m.
• Kindergarten students do not attend.
• Supervision available from 8:25 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
• Returning students should line up at last year's classroom entrance.
• New students can meet staff at the front entrance.

Wednesday, September 9

• Full day for Grades 1-5.
• Students line up in the same location as Tuesday.
• Please send a lunch, snack, and water bottle.

Kindergarten

Kindergarten students begin with their scheduled gradual entry sessions on September 9. Please refer to the Gradual Entry information sent in July. If you need assistance, contact hbabonau@saanichschools.ca.

School Supplies

ḰELSET will continue to provide school supplies for all students. Families will be asked to contribute $50 once class placements are finalized.

Please ensure your child brings:

• A backpack
• A water bottle
• Outdoor shoes
• Indoor-only shoes

Safety Reminder

Please help keep our students safe by:

• Keeping bus and through lanes clear.
• Using designated parking areas.
• Driving carefully in and around the school zone.

• Bus students will depart shortly after 10:15 a.m. on September 8.
