🔔 Earthquake Reunification Drill – Thursday, May 22, 2025
As part of provincial requirements, all BC schools participate in regular earthquake drills. At KELSET, we practice these procedures to ensure the safety and preparedness of both staff and students in the event of an emergency.
One key part of our emergency planning is the safe reunification of students with their families. We are inviting any available parents or caregivers to take part in our upcoming Reunification Drill on Thursday, May 22, 2025.
Participation is completely optional.
This is a valuable opportunity for our staff to rehearse our procedures for safely releasing students to a parent, caregiver, or designated emergency contact listed on the Emergency Release Permission form.
If you choose to participate, here’s what to expect:
Arrive any time after 2:15 PM.
Line up outside the fence by the large field—signage and staff will guide you.
If time allows, proceed to the Student Release table to confirm information and begin the reunification process.
A staff member will bring your child(ren) to meet you.
Please remain on-site until the drill ends.
The drill will conclude at 2:45 PM, and students will return to class briefly to collect their belongings before the regular dismissal at 2:48 PM.
Please note: depending on how many families participate, not everyone may have the chance to complete the full sign-out process.
Thank you for your continued support as we work together to ensure student safety and preparedness!
